Insanely great Agricole. Very similar to high-end bourbons. My reference from Martinique!
A long sought sample! I am curious...Very oily, thick streaks. In the nose honey, the Neisson typical cookies, citrus give freshness. Very nice sticky notes. Various spices. Complex and layered. In the mouth it feels a bit thin at first, then a potpourri of citrus hits. In the finish then ultra-beautiful, but this could be a bit longer.Hammeragricole! Very complex and fine, easy to drink. Strong parallels to the 9 year old. No idea why this is still available. The 2004 Vintage scores with dried fruit, the 2005 more with the freshness of citrus. Both ultra-good.
A warm butter pot full of hazelnuts, walnuts and macadamia on the nose. In addition, wood glue, Persian rose water and an earthiness of roots, combined with dried apricots. The sweetness explodes on the palate, but is not overpowering, but juicy like fruit. The sweetness is flanked and balanced by dark chocolate, roots and a deep nuttiness. You can still taste the finish hours later. Blindly, you might think you have an old high-end bourbon à la Pappy or Willet in your glass, but here the fruit has been added. In the overall oeuvre, J.Bally is the Agricole king for me, but this bottle would be a safe candidate for the desert island. And the rhum is simply fu**ing 11 years old! Together with La Bonne Intention 1998, definitely one of the best youngsters in the +-10 years range.
Grassy, soft, typical of Neisson due to the 51%. But still a complex masterpiece on the finish. A great classic Agricole.
