By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Having a go at this one right now and for the price a very good demerara rum.
The nose has earthy-herbaceous notes. Licorice and aniseed are also present. But not only that, there are also raisins, wood and leather. The nose is familiar, but complex and interesting. On the palate, it's spicy and quite intense, even at 43%. Menthol and tropical fruit soften the whole. The finish is warm and rather dry on aniseed wood. The conclusion is that this PM is a good image of this still, it lacks a little greediness and is therefore dedicated to friends of drier rums. It reminds me a little of its cousin the Blackadder 2008-2018, but with less wattage.
Very happy with this purchase. Have become one of my go to rums.
