Lots of wood and liquorice on the palate, very complex. A very long, very nice finish. Great rum, I like it better than the 1999. Edit: In the glass again for a long time. It takes a long time to open up. Definitely the dirtiest and funkiest of the Hearts series and therefore a bit out of line. If EMB 1995/97 is one of your favorites, you've come to the right place.
