How does this rum taste?
RumX members love the striking pencil/graphite note with thyme and mint over dried fruit and polished wood. This 1985 Enmore VSG, 36 years and 54.3%, is complex yet surprisingly not overly woody. Oily texture and a long, dry finish reward patience—give it time in the glass. Highly rated by 70 reviewers and limited to 297 bottles, it’s an outstanding, unforgettable Enmore.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 260,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

A nose of old varnished wood, sawdust and mirabelle plum alcohol. The palate plunges fairly quickly into a sort of licorice and prunes, then overripe papaya and floor wax, wood in all its forms and, very present when spotted, graphite/pencil lead. A bitter medicinal side bothers me a little, especially on the finish. The finish is long, on overripe papaya and wood in all its forms. The empty glass is marked by smoke and oak. Not a big fan of this rum, even though it tells a story of old wood, it lacks balance and deviant aromas bother me a little.
Friends of the cultivated pencil should feel right at home here. If you like that, this is probably your highlight of the year.
Wish you guys a good start in the new year! This is my last rum for this year. I have choosen it, because there are a lot of good rumors. So… it’s a very good rum from guyana with nice notes of thyme and graphite/pencil shaving. Very special. In comparison to the high price per value and the missing WOW effect i’ll give it a good 90 only. Nose: delicious, thyme, graphite, herbal, prunes, citrus, dried fruits, some notes of green apple, iodine, licorice 🤪, woody, almond, roasted, marzipan, cream toffee Mouth: complex, dry, astrigend, oily, full bodied, thyme, graphite, minty, herbal, bitter, tannins, licorice, oak, diluted???? Finish: long, dry, astringend, minty, thyme, herbal, iodine, tannins, roasted, leather, oak(barrel)
Outstanding Versailles! Liquid pencil... 🤯
