“Tasted after the Flensburg MEC. The nose is quite similar, but less drinkable, more charred aromas, burnt sugar, roasted spices behind the prune. Instead of parfumed tobacco there is dried mint and a sour note as of dry lemon peel.Also less pleasing in the mouth than the FRC and the impression of the nose is repeated. It lacks the round fruit instead there is a tart acidity in a dusty dry spicy profile.Also again the distinct licorice note of old Versailles which I do not love.It is amazing that the FRC MEC and this RA, with quite similar profiles are so far apart in my rating.Compared to FRC's KFM it is less balanced and intense. For me, on a par with the Nobilis.”

“An Enmore with a more "green" profile, floral and grassy, concentrated on aromas of pencil shavings, tobacco and menthol in particular, then wood, spices and dark notes come to envelop the whole before some fruity notes (prunes) come to round the angles. Elegant, a bit special but well aromatic. The attack in the mouth is more marked, impregnated with bitter notes, leather, warm spices, dried and nuts fruits, roasted notes and mocha, without forgetting herbs, pencil, thyme, tobacco and mentholated freshness. The finish is very long on the same register. A rather rustic rum, complex and concentrated, which honors its disappeared distillery.”

“Wow, a nose to fall in love with. Intense, complex, full-bodied. Very woody and spicy, but delicious. Old oak toasted, malty toasty. And yet very fruity with dried blood orange and sweet-tart dried currant. Maple and treacle. And again very dark with some Maggi and light licorice. Could smell it forever.The palate is as I expected from 31: strong, woody, toasty and spicy. Strongly bitter at the very beginning, but complex roasty flavors catch up quickly. Mocha, wood acidity, tobacco, maggi and some umami. Again the dried orange and currant, plus prune. Something dull like pencil shavings is there too. Great complexity.The bitter on the palate doesn't bother me at all. I think the strong flavors are great. Great rum”

“I tasted this rum with the 2021'er Flensburg KFM (RX10871)Color-wise there is no difference: deep reddish brown with reddish reflections in the glass.Nose is a little more closed compared to the Flensburg with a stronger tendency towards herbs, menthol and wet tobacco.On the palate very heavy not quite as much sweetness (burnt sugar). The alcohol seems stronger in contrast to licorice and tannins, which are a tad stronger no Flensburg.In the aftertaste, the picture is very similar: not quite as bitter, milder and fading with a pleasant sweetness.A sophisticated exception rum, which is an idea more harmonious and accessible compared to the Flensburg.”

“Wow, was ein Tropfen! KFM ist für mich immer ein zweischneidiges Schwert, da ich Bitter-/Holzigkeit im Rum einfach nicht mag. Aber was Rum Artesanal hier noch rausgezaubert hat, begeistert sogar mich! Eine unglaublich kräftige Nase, die das ganze Zimmer intensiv nach dunklen, reifen Pflaumen riechen lässt. Aus der Nähe gerochen dann eher Dörrpflaume, getrocknete Johannisbeeren, Orange, Kräuter und auch eine Spur Bleistift, wie sich das für Enmore gehört. Besonders hervorheben muss man hierbei nochmal die Bitternoten, die angefangen von Melasse und Lakritz über angebranntes Karamell bis zu altem Eichenholz, Harz und wirklich altem Fass reichen und sich vor allem auch am Gaumen bestätigen. Hier überwiegen diese, sodass die Fruchtigkeit in den Hintergrund tritt, was mir persönlich weniger gefällt. Der Abgang bleibt ewig im Mund und klingt noch lange mit Noten von Lakritze, altem Fass, Minze und erneut etwas Bleistift nach. So stelle ich es mir vor, ein in altes Fass auszulecken! ;-) Insgesamt ein klasse Rum und für mich einer der besten KFMs, wenn nicht sogar die Benchmark bisher. Die Nase würde sogar noch ein paar Punkte mehr von mir bekommen, aber dem Gaumen muss ich ein, zwei Punkte abziehen, da es eben doch ein bitter KFM ist. In Summe macht der aber einfach Spaß!”

“The needs a lot of time..Extremely concentrated nose of pencil shavings, old leather couch, rotten wood, dried herbs such as thyme, sage, nettle and mint, as well as some plum mustard and burnt caramel.Taste as expected was very bitter, oily and concentrated after leather, pencil, lots of wood, some cassis and prune, as well as dried herbs almost ethereal effect. No idea why but reminds me of these fir needle sauna infusions 🤣dazu come light mocha / coffee notes but they are very much in the background, all underpinned by bitter molasses and licorice.All in all, definitely a good rum that will find its lovers. I'm just unfortunately not a fan of these crass bitter notes and have as a child just do not like to chew on the pencil😜😉😅”
