The "Guadeloupe" was produced in Guadeloupe at the Bellevue distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Compagnie des Indes. It was distilled in 1998 from Sugar cane juice with a Column Still and then aged for 16 years. The rum has an ABV of 43%. "The initial impression is really great, loads of fruits (pears, papaya, grapes), followed by caramel, vanilla and subtle wood. But on the palate it is quite a disappointment, way too deluted and overall just a generic rum with some vanilla, fruits and some caramel. Yeah, just like the nose but less distinguishable. One for the living bottle."
