How does this rum taste?
The Jamaica JMH <>H Rum is a limited edition treasure from the renowned Hampden distillery in Jamaica, bottled by The Rum Cask. Distilled in 2001 and aged for 18 years, this potent 61.2% ABV rum is crafted from molasses using a pot still. Its aromatic profile bursts with pineapple, tropical and overripe fruit notes, while tasting highlights include tropical fruit, woody undertones, and a touch of mango. Esteemed by enthusiasts for its fruity complexity and woody depth, it exhibits well-integrated alcohol levels, though some find it a tad intense. With only 310 bottles released, it showcases Hampden's classic style to a refined audience.

Continental aging to perfection, what a Hampden! Absolutely warm and highly concentrated nose. Especially come through here besides fermented pineapple, grapefruit and citrus jam, incredibly pleasant notes of overripe banana, which I find very cool. The rum is incredibly round but still wonderfully complex. The palate is very mouth-filling, creamy, sweet. The fruitiness diminishes a bit and is taken a bit more by the classic earthy notes.... wonderful taste! One of my favorites, just good
Die Nase ist sehr fruchtig mit Mango, überreifer Ananas und Banane. Dazu sind auch florale/blumige Noten vorhanden, etwas Olive und Vanille. Genauso spielt sich das auch am Gaumen ab. Tolle Abfüllung mit sehr gut integriertem ABV.
Wow, Hampden in Bestform! Hier kommt alles zusammen: Tropische Früchte, funky Esters, tolle Cremigkeit und angenehme Süße. Exzellenter Hampden aus 2001!
So nach dem 2014er <>H zum Vergleich nochmal diesen aus dem glorreichen 2001er Jahrgang. Ein sehr unfairer Vergleich im Grunde, aber obwohl dieser nur kontinental gelagert war, wirklich sehr sehr gut. Den richtigen Zeitpunkt erwischt, diesen aus dem Fass zu holen. The Rum Cask, beweisen immer wieder ihr gutes Händchen bei sowas.
