Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Evanius Harris)

"Viel elegante Bitterkeit von den Teenoten. Überreife Tropenfruchtnoten, dazu zitrische Töne von Mandarine und Limette. Die herben Töne sind der dominante Aufschlag im Aromenspektrum, es fehlt mir etwas an finaler Balance. Ich beklage mich jedoch auf hohem Niveau, das ist geschmacklich aufregend, intensiv und deshalb eindeutig ein sehr ansprechendes Release."

"1. Tasting: Wow, Funk! Got Esters, Banana, Ananas. However, there is plenty left in this sample, so I will update with more detail at a later point. What I can say already: I like it! 2. Tasting: this happened after a while, and after having a bit of Agricole, so the initial difference in taste was quite appreciated. However, I found the rum to be a bit too sharp in its alcohol burn at the finish line, this time. 3. Tasting: this sample was 10cl. 😉 It is still quite sharp in the alcoholic burn, and leaves a slight metallic taste. I am a bit disappointed by it, as it starts really promising."

"Still a little rough on the nose. Intense and spicy on the palate. The alcohol could be a little better integrated. Nevertheless, a very good representative of the St. Lucia style. Those who like a little more power will get their money's worth here."

"krass. super viel zitrus in Form von Limetten und Orangenabrieb mit Honig und kandierter Orange an der Nase, dazu dezent frische grüne Minze, Ananas, Aprikose und Holz... geschmacklich dann unglaublich Süffig, cremig mit Karamellisierter, fast angebrannter Ananas, Minze und Vanille, sowie Piment. im Abgang dann eher Menthol, Limettenschale, grüner Pfeffer, säuerliche Ananas, Früchtebrot und Hintenraus sehr trocken und würzig. Lecker!"

"Ich habe die drei Chairman's Reserve 9y RA&RTN, den 9Y Evanius Harris und den 20Y Old Brother in eine Crosstasting verglichen. Der Evanius ist runder wie der RA obwohl er gleich alt ist. Die Gewürze und Kräuter sind auch hier präsent, aber nicht so aufdringlich. Dafür kommen Holz, Mandel und Honig Noten im Mund zur geltung."

"This is a rum that makes me wonder how my perception can differ so much from others. I find hardly any fruit here beyond a ripe banana, but plenty of spicy, herbal and a bit of sweet wood. In the mouth, the herbs again hit first and foremost, followed by a mentholated finish. A powerful but harmonious rum develops on the minty lead note. It does not quite meet my taste with unmistakable quality. Update after half a year. I find the nose very good in the meantime. I have lost the banana and found citrus and peel. Somewhat reminiscent of the TDL menthol profile but in funky. In the mouth I find the alcohol too biting at only 56%. Nose top, finish very good, still air in between ( +2)."

"An der Nase erinnert mit der Evanius Harris etwas an einen Mhoba mit der künstlichen Karamell/Plastik-Note. Dazu etwas Leder, medizinische Noten, Gewürze und etwas Ester. Am Gaumen eine leichte Süße, Gewürze, etwas Leder und verkohltes Holz."

"Schöner chairmans, intensiver Kräuter und minznote Im Geschmack. Kenne ich eigentlich nur bei tdls aber in letzter Zeit kommt dieser Ton ziemlich häufig auch bei anderen destillen auf der Welt vor. Mir gefällt er auf jeden Fall sehr gut. Er ist ausgewogen und komplex. Sollte man mal probiert haben"

"This is a nice release from St. Lucia. The nose is wonderful and has a bit of funk to it. The palate is wonderful with charred oak to it as well as fruits ad some vanilla. Beter than the 5 year old but not as fruity as the 13 year old. Still a very good rum at the current price tag. "

"Sehr ester lastig, alkohol spürbar und nicht gut eingebunden. Wird balanciert mit Fass und netter fruchtigkeit, hauptsächlich rote Früchte. Tee Noten und eine leichte Bitterkeit, Astringenz die man erstmal sacken lassen muss. Spannende Kombination, die lwider nicht ganz zusammen harmoniert. Braucht etwas Zeitnim Glas um zusammenzufinden."

"Chairman’s Tasting mit 3x Vendome (Evanius Harris, RMW, Rum&Co), 1x Vendome & John Dore Blend (Nectar) und 2x John Dore (Kirsch, Rum Exchange). Die Vendome-Abfüllungen etwas dreckiger und medizinischer, die John Dore fruchtiger. Von den Vendome war für mich der Evanius Harris am stimmigsten. Bei den John Dore hätte der Rum Exchange gewonnen, wenn er nicht so holzig wäre (bester in der Nase), so schmeckte mir der Kirsch besser. Insgesamt die Nr. 1 war aber der Necktar, der von beiden Stils das Beste vereinte, mild, lecker und auf den Punkt gereift war. Der beste der getesteten Vendome."

"im Rahmen einer Chairman’s Verkostung direkt gegen rx 1840 & rx 15630 Verkostet. Dieser ist alkoholischer an der Nase als fet 1840 mit gleichem Alter. Der 1840 dafür brennender am Gaumen. Ingesamt geht der Rum&Co Vendome (15630) als Sieger im Direkt Vendome Vergleich hervor – aber eben auch mit doppeltem Alter 😉"
