Velier Uitvlugt (Port Mourant) MPM 1990
Highly praised old-school Port Mourant: intense, oily, spicy-woody with brown sugar, anise and citrus. Demanding alcohol but rewarding profile that many see as a benchmark continental Velier Demerara.
Seasoned Demerara fans who enjoy high-proof, dry Port Mourant with strong wood, spice, licorice and mineral notes, and collectors hunting classic early Velier bottlings.

How does this rum taste?
Intense, dry, old-school Demerara power
If you already enjoy powerful Demeraras like other Velier Port Mourants, this pushes that style to a drier, sharper, continental-aged extreme that rewards a slow, careful pour.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV or sharp alcohol, and value-focused drinkers expecting tropical-aged richness at this price.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
