Hampden Great House (Distillery Edition 2020)
Highly praised Hampden: big but balanced funk, loads of tropical fruit, creamy texture and well‑integrated 59% ABV. Often rated the best Great House edition and a benchmark Jamaican sipper.
Fans of high‑ester Jamaican funk who want a powerful yet balanced Hampden with creamy mouthfeel, big pineapple/banana notes and enough structure to sip neat or use in bold tiki cocktails.

How does this rum taste?
Creamy, funky Hampden benchmark
You’ll probably love this if standard Hampden bottlings felt a bit tame—this ramps up the funk and strength but stays surprisingly rounded and drinkable for a cask‑strength style.
Beginners or those sensitive to strong alcohol and solventy esters; anyone looking for a light, sweet, easygoing rum rather than a dry, funky 59% Jamaican profile.

The best Great house for me.fruity, esters, woody and empyreumatic 🤤
Finally opened my bottle! Very lovely round good balanced rum from Hampden. Fruity ester from start to the end with some nice complexity. Alcohol could be intergrated better. Would recommend it for some funky Mai Tai’s. Nose: Funky😜, Intense, ester, solvents, buttery, trop. fruits, Pineapple, banana, overripe fruits, some citrus, some sweet marzipan Mouth: Funky, dry, round, delicious, balanced, concentrated, Intense, Ester, spicy, oak(woody), roasted, trop. fruits, pineapple, banana, caramelized Finish: medium-long, funky, warm, ester, oak, anise, vanilla, trop. fruits, banana, pineapple, citrus
Hampden of great quality! A super greedy nose, fruity with just what is necessary of empyreumatic a perfect balance between greediness and seriousness with a beautiful power. The mouth and in the same profile as the nose with always this balance and this balance between power, greediness, funky empyreumatic.A long finish that fades on tropical fruits, spices always this vanilla brioche ultra greedy and this small side smoked, rubber ... A very great success a rum super well executed, I like!
80% OWH 201320% <>H 2017In direct comparison with '19, '21 and '22: fruitiest on the nose, more pineapple, darkest along with the '22, a bit more fruity and caramelly than the others on the palate.Of course but very similar to the 2019.... Fine, restrained esters on the nose, slightly vinegar. A bit more fruity and lovely than the red. With a touch of honey. Somewhat caramellyOn the palate you can feel the light esters (guessing at the stated ratio esters of about 250, so LROK level). Starts with a slight spiciness, makes a bit of a salty bitter bow, goes into fruity sour sweet (pineapple) and ends up with anise. Seems rounder and creamier than the red. Creme Brulee even.I also like the green a tad better...
