Excellent Demerara from Velier! Perfectly balanced on the palate and the over 60% simply conveys flavor without being too edgy.
The best enmore I have tasted so far!A sublime taste! An endless finish!Just one word: incredible!
Update: Three months after opening the sample, the rum is still strong and aromatic. A wonderful rum. Elegant, but at the same time dark and strong. Significantly darker and more bitter than the ED 1996 ... and more complex. In addition to a beautiful profile with oak, vanilla, apricot, orange zest, toffee and glue, dark malt, raisins, cedar wood and aniseed waft across the nose. On the palate, the pleasing basic profile is complemented by bitter, burnt mocha, cocoa and fruit in dark syrup. Strong!
... The Old Velier Demerara rum is the best thing you can taste in the rum world. The rums were aged in the tropics for several years by mistake and nobody refilled the barrel. The Andel tax was 90% or more, which is why the taste is especially full and intense. Even though it is an extra expensive product, I recommend to taste a rum from this series at least once in your life.
