A.H. Riise XO Sauternes Cask Rum 6yr 42%
The XO Sauternes Cask Rum is a unique 6-year-old rum hailing from the Virgin Islands and bottled by A.H. Riise. Distilled from molasses with an ABV of 42%, this rum harmonizes sweet and fruity notes. Aromas of peaches, honey, sweet apricot, and vanilla captivate the nose, while flavors of peaches, honey, sweet caramel, and a hint of synthetic character please the palate. While some users appreciated its peachy and sweet profile, likening it to a liqueur, others felt that it lacked the complexity desired in a traditional rum. Those who enjoy A.H. Riise's creations and are looking for a sweet, fruity experience will find that the XO Sauternes Cask Rum delivers. However, if you're searching for a more complex and classic rum experience, this one might not be for you.

“I'd say that the cask finish destroyed this one pretty well. Maybe good for baking actually.”
