How does this rum taste?
The Plantation Extrême No. 4 is a limited-edition rum from Saint Lucia Distillers, handpicked by Maison Ferrand. Distilled in 2007 using a Coffey Still and aged for 13 years, it shows a robust 58.9% ABV. The aromatic profile includes vanilla, wood, and caramel, with hints of orange and glue. The flavor is dominated by woody and caramel notes, complemented by clove and roasted undertones. User reviews reflect its surprising resemblance to Caroni profiles, rich wood influence, and pleasant warmth, although some find it overly sweet or lacking complexity compared to other Saint Lucia rums. With only 544 bottles available, it offers an intriguing tasting experience for rum enthusiasts.

I just returned from a luxury tasting I was invited to and I'm actually a bit tipsy this time because all the rums had a high proof. This tasting was Plantation extreme only and this is the third one of the six. This one was far better than the previous one. It may be an atypical Saint Lucia rum, but it balances pretty well. Leave in the glass for a while to get all the flawours. Price to quality is OK.
Very surprising St. Lucia with similarities to Caroni profiles. A good and underrated rum in my opinion.
Top notch / interesting column rum. While I do prefer St Lucia‘s Pot Still rums, I‘m surprised how much I enjoy this one.
