How does this rum taste?
Skipper Dark Rum, produced in Guyana from molasses, offers a complex blend of flavors and aromas that captivate enthusiasts. Aged with care, it presents strong molasses, coffee, caramel, and dark chocolate notes on the nose. The palate reveals an intriguing mix of dark chocolate, spicy tones, and baking spices, complemented by a subtle burn and dried fruit undertones. Reviews highlight its balanced profile with both sweetness and bitterness, making it a desirable choice for mixing, especially in cocktails and with cola. Although its relatively low intensity limits its appeal for sipping, its traditional Demerara blend style reinforces Skipper's reputation as a solid mixer option.

Trivial Guyana with notes of wood, toffee, a few hints of herbs and some bitterness. Too thin for mixing and even more so for sipping. You somehow get the impression that the rum has been filtered and diluted for so long that it tastes soft and not very intense.
A pleasant smell of molasses, dark chocolate and coffee, quite spicy. The taste is also spicy, chocolate, oily and slightly burning from the alcohol. The medium-long finish is slightly sweet at first, then becoming a bit more bitter.
Ziemlich langweilig
An off brand Demerara that commits to the bit. Classic brown sugar and toffee notes on the nose, with a standard if mild palate, and a surprisingly strong finish for the proof.
