How does this rum taste?
The Guyana Diamond VSG is a cask-strength rum (58.9% ABV) produced by Demerara Distillers Ltd and bottled by Barikenn. Distilled in 2012 using a Single Wooden Pot Still, the rum offers a compelling nose with notes of vanilla, pineapple, and woody undertones. With 8 years of aging, the palate features vanilla, woody, and spiced flavors with hints of licorice. This limited release, comprising just 186 bottles, highlights subtle complexity and robust aromas appreciated by connoisseurs. Users have noted its fruitiness, balanced palate, and warming finish, though some find it slightly youthful and bold.

I love this rum because of its fruitiness and I have an extra backup on the shelf. The nose is really fruity with spices. The palate is lightly bitter, yet sweet and balanced. Fruity from the start with spices and oa with a hint of varnish. The finish is long and lightly bitter with roasted oak and caramel. Price to quality is very good.
