This is the second rum made at the local destillery of my hometown and for a first batch they have done pretty well. Looking forward to the second batch. This is only a four year rum and thinking about the age it's pretty amazing what they have achieved. A nutty nose with sweetness and dried fruits topped with a hint of sherry. The palate is, considering the age, complex yet light and the sherry is also in the background behind caramel and raisins. The finish is medium a tad oily, which I like and with fruits and caramel. Retasting this right now and it did lose a few points from my initial score.
