A very reduced rum to please as many palates as possible, which has the effect of somewhat extinguishing the taste. Here, it's the nose that's very interesting, with an agricultural profile where the cane is very present, with a hint of wood and a real gourmandise. It's a rum from Reunion, with its own particular typicity. Very cool.
Simple, assez leger. Pas mauvais mais pas assez complexe. Il y a mieux à la Réunion et chez Isautier
This Isautier is quite okay, there are much worse from this distillery :) The nose is very fresh, citrus fruits and herbs are recognizable before the young wood makes itself felt. Lots of herbs on the palate too, and a herbal note is also recognizable.
Right after opening my sample, the aroma was almost perfumy. Poured it to my tasting glass and unfortunately the aroma mostly disappeared. Afterwards only was getting light citrus. When tasting, got herbal notes and very light wood. Mouthfeel was quite watery. The finish was vegetal, grassy and short.
