How does this rum taste?
RumX members rave about the huge ester funk and overripe tropical fruit here. Expect pineapple, banana and a touch of glue on the nose, followed by a dry, complex palate and a long vanilla‑oak finish. Despite 66.8%, many find the alcohol impressively integrated; some add a splash of water and give it time to breathe. With 83 community reviews and strong buyer confidence, this limited 252‑bottle release stands out.

My favorite Hampden to date! Many may not understand, many he is too crass and too one-sided. For me, this is not the case at all. The fruit notes in combination with the finest vanilla, anise and oak notes is for me at the moment with nothing to compare and my absolute favorite. I could smell it for hoursIn the mouth it really goes off.... Fruity, creamy, sweet, intense and simply delicious. The over 66% are perfectly integrated
tasted with the Rum Cask Hampden 1990, both C<>H Marque, the Flensburg with more ABV, the Rum Cask matured longer. In direct comparison, the Flensburg seems as if someone had installed a turbo, on the nose crass notes of fermented buttermilk and citrus, fantastic! The Rum Cask, on the other hand, seems almost a bit flat, i.e. much more balanced, with a broader fruit palette and baking spices. Similar on the palate, the Flensburg with more power and acidity, the Rum Cask rounder and more complex, also somewhat bacon-spicy.
Second testing and this is a really great rum.
What a Hampden!
