La Confrérie du Rhum Longueteau Single Cask XO 2014

For the price this is a great rum. The nose is very fruity with cognac, spice and sugarcane. The palate is well balanced between wood, tannins and fruits trailed by spice, sugarcane as well as a peppery note and a slight vegetal note. The finish is long and fresh with wood, berries and spices.

In the nose fresh grassy notes, a lot of orange, some coffee.In the mouth much more powerful than the rather restrained nose suggested, clear brandy notes, coffee, nice long finish, unfortunately a bit too alcoholic.

A nice rum, but far too expensive

Honey nougat with coffee and lime makes for a rather interesting taste. The finish is unfortunately slightly alcoholic.

A rum similar to Reimonenq 9 ans cuvée prestige, but less fruity and with more wood influence. A fruity nose with strawberries, mango and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, there's more oak and fruit. Not very deep and diluted. A pity. The herbaceous finish takes over.

Rather closed nose, but all the more fiery on the palate. Nice profile, but without the great complexity. Solid in the best sense of the word.

Le nez n’est pas ultra expressif et concentré mais plutôt subtil et précieux. On a de belles notes boisées, de vanille et de fruits secs (amandes). C’est plutôt frais, à l’aveugle j’aurai dit un rhum plus jeune que 6 ans, la canne et le citron vert sont encore présent. Une touche de sucrosité avec le miel rend le tout assez gourmand. Ce nez est plutôt fin et élégant. En bouche, c’est moins gourmand, le boisé est moins délicats à mon gout. On a de l’amertume assez dérangeante. On retrouve des notes de torréfaction, de caco et d’épices. Je retrouve comme une touche de Fiji la dedans.
