How does this rum taste?
Praised for its smooth, tropical sweetness, this 16-year column-still Salvadoran XO opens with banana and pineapple aromas, followed by vanilla, toffee and caramel. Reviewers note Ceiba-wood influence that adds gentle spice and a light smoky, woody touch. Often enjoyed neat or on the rocks. A popular choice with 111 RumX reviews, though some find it sweet with a short, 40% finish and a premium price.

Overall a smooth and pleasant Latino rum. It’s a 16yo rum containing rums aged for 15 years in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, and finished for one year in Mayan Ceiba casks. It’s fruity and smoky with aroma and flavor of vanilla and pistachio.
Throughout, one thinks too much of sugar here, which makes everything flat.
Tolles Geschmacksprofil. Pflaume im Speckmantel als Trinkerlebnis. Eine Bereicherung für jede Sammlung.
Deutlich angenehmer als der Sahumerio. Aber leider gar nicht mein Geschmack.
