By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Incredibly good barrel strength Agricole! Extremely complex and intense after green and red chilies, some coconut, banana, honey, plum and cherry, as well as ginger and herbs. The whole thing continues the same way on the palate and the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated. In addition, not too woody for such an old agricole. It gets a bit smokier on the finish, with toasted coconut and some green chile coming back.... Damn this one is really fun! 🤤 Probably by far one of the best depaz of all time!
The needs time, in the glass and also when tasting!A very complex nose, which adheres to something old! Incredibly intense....also the palate is very diverse, from an old fruit, to wood to fine vegetal aromas...the same continues in the finish.... An excellent Agricoles!!! I am becoming more and more a fan of Agricoles at cask strength!!!
The nose is invitingly sweet (creme brulee!) and fruity. On the palate, the alcohol is evident and the flavor quickly moves towards wood and becomes bitter. This intensifies towards the finish. No doubt from the "technical data" a good rum, but no, with this Agricole I will not warm. The variant with 61.6% (RX5465) I like better, but will also not my favorite.
This is a tasting from 2020 and it's a great rum even at the price tag when released. A well rounded and nicely balanced rum with nice fruits and vanilla. Clear Agricole notes and the empty glass had a nice smoky note with some honey.
