"After some inquiries, it seems at least not to be excluded that my sample could no longer ensure a correct reproduction of the real character of this rum. Otherwise, it would be a complete mystery to me what happened here. This has nothing in common with the familiar profile of all the other New Yarmouth 1994 bottlings I know, much more the aromas in my glass arouse the suspicion that a herbal schnapps-like distillate was bottled here. Until the tasting of a reference sample therefore without rating. Update: Finally tasted again with an independent, second sample. The herbal note remains present, but the first sample lacked almost any New Yarmouth-typical note. This does not prove true in the second sample, the NY DNA is present, but the herbal note remains present."
