"This is not a cheap bottle but it fully lives up to the price. The nose is that of a fresh full bodied rum with lots of candied fruit as well as vanilla and a hint of mint. The palate is smoky and woody with nice fruits and spices trailed by leather, caramel and a light earthy and caramel note. The finish is long and woody with spices and tropical fruits and a hint of tobacco. Would have loved a higher ABV. Remember to rest for at least 15 minutes before nosing and sampling :-)"
"Decent nose but rather flat in the mouth. It would have been interesting to have tasted this rum undiluted as the dilution clearly takes away a lot of depth and flavour."
"It's a pity that it was so noticeably diluted here. Of course, one can only assume, but the original distillate should have had potential for significantly more complexity and impact. That with the 1989 Uitvlugts or PMs is basically much more possible, shows, for example, the almost equally old, but more alcoholic Silver Seal from 2020."
