"I know it's early morning but a friend of mine asked if I had tried the Maximo, well knowing that I have all the Tributo releases and Club Union. Having the sample I just had to give it a go. This is a very expensive bottle that is released in regular intervals. The presentation of the half liter decanter is inside a beautifully crafted wooden box, a true masterpiece for the eye. Now to the nose. Smoky oak with fruits and vanilla and a whif of cognac. A very soft well balanced nose. The palate is sweet and dry but still has a kind of velvet like feel to it. There is also smoky oak and fruit from the start then chocolate, caramel and vanilla follows with a hint of cognac and tobacco trailing close behind. The finish is medium to long with smoky oak, dried fruit (mostly raisin) and tobacco."
