A rum tasted at the German Rum Festival in 2024. A pleasant, complex nose, fruity (very ripe fruit), sweet with vegetal, menthol and light oak. Toasty and leathery, with a strange chemical sweetness. The palate is lean, acqueous, bitter, with the same chemical candy taste, but much more pronounced than on the nose. The finish is short, except for that strange, persistent aroma and a few notes of smoked wood and leather. The nose remains interesting and complex.
Exciting rhum. Somehow a mixture of molasses and agricole. Smooth, round, beautiful fruits.
Nice old style, I like that!
