How does this rum taste?
The "Unshared Cask for Reunion Island" rum, crafted by Savanna distillery in Reunion in 2007, is a unique 12-year-old expression distilled from molasses using a column still. Boasting an ABV of 48%, this limited release of 1392 bottles showcases a profile with prominent woody, fruity, and sweet notes, highlighted by cherry and berry aromas. On the palate, woody and grape tones dominate, complemented by hints of strawberry and caramel. Users appreciate its balanced nose and finish, although some find the mid-palate slightly flat. 30.01.2022 Going through some samples at home. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Balanced, wood, light roasted, fruity, light cherry, faint smoke. Palate Fresh, wood, light roasted, fruity, berries, faint floral, light caramel, medium dry. Finish Medium long, medium dry, wood, faint smoke, light berries, faint smoke.
On sent tout de suite le vieillissement en fût de Porto, aussi bien au nez qu'en bouche. Un rhum sage, un peu trop pour moi mais très plaisant !
