"Some call this new 15yo for “Nelson’s Blood”, but it’s definitely not the same. This one isn’t nearly as sweet as the “Nelson’s Blood” and there isn’t written “Nelson’s Blood” on the label either. Overall it’s a very good rum, but probably quite long from what a Navy rum tasted way back in time. I would say if you like the other rum in Pusser’s range you will also like this one. The same goes for if you like the El Dorado 12 or/and 15, but think they are a little too sweet."
"#5013 31.12.2024 Enjoying a set of samples while cooking New Year Dinner. Nose Wood, round, light licorice, light roasted, plum, dried fruit, faint coffee, light chocolate. Palate Wood, light roasted, oily, light licorice, raisin, light caramel, light herbs, light tannins, faint honey, light orange, light chocolate. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint cherry, light mint, light coffee, light licorice. The empty glass has nice prunes, nutts and light tobacco."
"Pleasing PM profile. Less sweetness than in some epigone DDL's."
"I like it very much. Sweet red fruits stand out on the nose between toffee and wood. Nuts are added on the palate. This unusual cherry note remains on the finish. Compared to the similarly priced El Dorado 15 of the same age, the wood is less intrusive, but it also lacks a little body."
