Blindverkostung: ist das ein Whisky oder ein Rum? Prägnante Islay Noten, etwas Torf und typische Whisky Aromen nehmen meine Nase wahr. Nach etwas Standzeit kommen Ester, Vanille und Weisswein zum Vorschein, was stark auf einen Rum mit Whiskyfinish hindeutet. Am Gaumen setzen sich die Islay Assotiationen weiter fort, gepaart mit einer starken Süße. So Süß, dass ich hier sogar auf Zuckerzusatz tippen würde. Dieser Rum erinnert mich stark an den Our Rum and Spirit – Our Blend oder an den Compagnie des Indes Boulet de Canon 4. Ein Quervergleich zeigt auch deutliche Ähnlichkeit zum CdI BdC4, allerdings ist er sehr viel trockener als der Blind-Kandidat. Vanille und Karamell lassen mich zu Zentral-Amerika hintendieren, die Ester und die Ähnlichkeit zum OR&S und CDI allerdings in Richtung Jamaika. Es ist aufjedenfall ein sehr junger Rum (6-8yo) mit einem Alkoholgehalt von ~46%. Die „Islay-Überlagerung“ verändert die Charakteristika des Rums aber so sehr, dass ich leider keine konkrete Idee habe, wo dieser Rum her sein könnte. 69 Punkte
