How does this rum taste?
- Complex flavor profile
- Well-balanced notes
- Authentic Versailles character
The Finest Demerara Rum, distilled at Versailles in Guyana in 1985, is a quintessential representation of the wooden pot still tradition. Aged for 22 years and bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd, it offers a complex nose of dried fruit and woody undertones with hints of tea, almond, and pencil shavings. On the palate, woody and herbal notes dominate, complemented by an oily, slightly salty texture. Appreciated for its balance and distillate-driven character, it maintains a medium-long finish with earthier flavors like licorice and plum, resonating well among enthusiasts who enjoy rich and intricate rums. RumX users commend its authenticity and craftsmanship.

"Whisky Fair 2023 tasting. Typical Versailles profile with herbal/farmy/woody notes. Still powerful for the old age with a medium long finish. Oily mouthfeel with strong notes. Really enjoyable and distillate driven without any cask influence to distract."
