Long Pond Plantation Jamaica Finish Rye Whiskey ITP - HJC 1996
Highly praised for its balanced tropical fruit, wood and rye-spice combo, offering character, freshness and a distinctive profile, even if some find it a bit diluted or too wood-driven.
Rum fans who enjoy moderate Jamaican ester levels, clear cask influence and rye-whisky notes, especially bourbon/whisky drinkers looking for a fruity yet spicy crossover sipper at manageable strength.

How does this rum taste?
Balanced Jamaican–rye crossover sipper
If you like balanced Long Pond or whisky-finished rums, this works well: fruit and classic Jamaica are there, but the rye cask adds spice and dryness without overwhelming most palates.
Those chasing high-ester funk bombs, cask-strength intensity, or who dislike grainy/rye notes and prominent oak influence in their Jamaican rum.

Wauw.
Wahrscheinlich sinnig komplexe holzaromen. Sehr feiner Geschmack. gefällt mir
A classic Long Pond from Plantation. The nose is rather shy and reserved, the exotic fruits are discreet, as well as the phenolic notes. Some spices and notes of wood, burnt sugar and toffee come to decorate this rather simplistic and summary profile. We have a firm and phenolic side and some tropical fruits, but it is especially the spices and the wood which arrive in the background which are finally the most noticed. There is a slight smoky side that comes in after a bit of aeration, but the rum remains overall very light and lacks intensity and depth. The finish is short, with some bitter notes, cinnamon, chilli, nuts and caramel that accompany the fruits and a light smoky veil.A rather dull rum that loses too much of its potential with dilution. It would have been interesting to have a version with about ten degrees more. The quality / price ratio is moreover rather debatable.
