The "Demerara Dark" was produced in Guyana at the Demerara Distillers Ltd distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Samaroli. It was distilled in 1994 from Molasses and then aged for 11 years. The rum has an ABV of 45%. This is a limited release and there are only 346 bottles. 17 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.9/10. The rum smells like Prunes, Leather and Barrel, and on the palate there is Prunes, Barrel and Tobacco.

little dark, steady with slightly dull. good low-abv Demerara, although it could be higher. I prefer those stronger because the features come out better, but it's still worth sipping and appreciating.
This is a lovely Samaroli once it has rested for 15-20 minutes. I would have loved a higher ABV because I think it would have blown it out there. The nose is fruity with molasses, leather, licorice and wood. The palate is warm and dry with fruits and lovely earthy notes as well as spices, licorice and oak. The finish is medium to long and dry with wood, dried fruit and spices.
