Velier Neisson Cuvée Chai 5 Adrien 2016
Highly praised agricole that balances fresh cane, honey and woody spice with floral, nutty and citrus notes. Dry, structured and characterful, rewarding slow sipping and oxidation in the glass.
Fans of dry, structured agricoles who enjoy fresh sugarcane, woody spice and subtle fruit rather than big sweetness, and want a characterful Velier-selected Neisson at moderate cask strength.

How does this rum taste?
Balanced, dry and characterful agricole
If you enjoy focused, dry agricoles like other young Neisson or AOC Martinique rums, this cask gives you more intensity and structure without becoming aggressive or overly funky.
Those new to rum, lovers of sweet or very fruity profiles, and anyone sensitive to 55.8% ABV or the grassy, herbal side of agricole.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

A good second, ‘chai vevert’ is the clear winner
This is also an older tasting. Price to quality is very good on this one as well. Lightly fruity and the floral notes are far lighter. The palate is lightly dry but delicious. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some licorice and herbal notes.
Very inviting and pleasant nose. Baked apple and almonds come to mind. On the palate, a nice combination of spice, citrus and young wood. I like it much better than the "Vevert".
Le Adrien est plus feutré et plus sobre en fruits! On est sur une gourmandise équilibrée! 🧡
