Summary
The Heavy Trinidad Rum HTR was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Velier. It was distilled in 1989 from Molasses and then aged for 16 years. The rum has an ABV of 62% and the mark is HTR. This is a limited release and there are only 1464 bottles.

Mein erster Caroni aus den 80ger. Die Nase ist sehr zurückhaltend. Etwas getrocknete Früchte, etwas Banane und Cocos, etwas Süße und etwas Vanille. Caroni? Fehlanzeige....nach dreckigen Komponenten muss man schon sehr suchen und findet sie dann eher hintergründig. Hier wäre ich blind nie auf einen Caroni gekommen. Im Mund ist er dann Cremig, seidig und leicht süß und da macht sich dann tatsächlich zeitgleich eine Ladung Benzin und Trockenheit im Mund breit. Direkt nachdem er weg ist, hat man davon jedoch quasi nichts mehr. Caroni auf Sparflamme, hier lohnt sich als Fan der Aufwand nicht!
