How does this rum taste?
- Fresh and fruity aroma
- Unique grape-like taste
- Well-made and intriguing
The Mauricia Heritage rum, crafted in Mauritius at the renowned Grays Distillery, is distilled from sugar cane juice using a column still and aged for three years, boasting a 45% ABV. Tasting notes reveal a complex profile with aromas of apple, cherry wood, fresh grass, and fruity undertones. On the palate, expect hints of grapes, light dryness, and a grappa-like finish, with nuances of lemon. Although praised for its well-made quality and unique profile, it may lack depth for some enthusiasts. It's noted for being similar to grape-based spirits with a vegetal, earthy character, providing an interesting experience.

"The nose for me is like smelling a fresh bucket of buttery movie theater popcorn. The palate is kind of vegetal and earthy, with a lightly oily mouthfeel. On the finish I get grapes."

"A very agricoly rum. Spirity like a Grappa or a Marc de Bourgogne. Grape based spirit. Light and fresh. More oak in the nose than in taste. It's very different from the New Grove old tradition 3y (Which is way thicker). Nothing really fancy but well made and a great daily sipper."
