S.B.S Denmark Rum, produced at the Enghaven Rom distillery and bottled by 1423 World Class Spirits, offers a unique exploration of Danish craftsmanship. Distilled from molasses using pot and column stills, this limited-release rum was aged for four years. Considering the price tag on this bottle you get a pretty good rum. Warm and spicy with some wood, fruit and spices. Slightly bitter on the finish but nothing that disturbs the overall impression.
Pick me up somehow not particularly, on the one hand very fruity, spicy and funky, on the other hand everything does not seem particularly harmonious and especially the finish is quite alcoholic spicy and also somewhat bitter and astringent with a rather exhausting acidity.
Unmistakably young, but already very balanced in an exciting way. The fresh fruit notes meet creamy-sweet milk, subtle wood and vanilla, soft chocolate and pastry, and some spiciness. Independent in a positive sense, but not a revelation.
Dänemark, ein für mich unbekanntes Rum-Land und der Rum überrascht mich auch gleich. In der Nase vor allem dunkle und getrocknete Früchte n und etwas Gewürze (Kümmel?), dazu eine Spur Orange und etwas Menthol. Am Gaumen dann die volle Ladung Gewürz und Noten von dunklen Beeren. Insgesamt überwiegt der dunkle Geschmackseindruck durch Holz, Rauch und einer erdigen Note. Der Abgang kommt schließlich würzig und trocken. Wieder etwas anderes, zwar kein Highlight, aber trotzdem durchaus spannend.
