Highly praised elegant Cuban rum with pronounced tobacco, leather and dark chocolate notes. Smooth, balanced and especially loved as a cigar companion, though more focused than ultra-complex rums.

A truly fantastic and elegant rum, but overpriced as most of the Havana Club rums.
Aroma: At 40 degrees, the aroma is very strong. It has a strong raisin and smoky nuances of tobacco. A variety of fruits, such as bananas and apples, come through at the same time. Toasted almonds and caramel are also present. Taste: Smooth and sweet. Raisins and burnt leather flavors are well integrated. A fantastic balance, neither dry nor rich (if anything, a bit on the dry side). The aromas and flavors are similar and uncomplicated, but that simplicity is completely to my taste... +) In the third month of aging, the citrus becomes more pronounced. Mouthfeel: smooth, without the characteristic nutty hoarseness that I've noticed with some sweetened Rhone. Despite the sweetness at the start, there is little residual sugar afterward. The finish is short and clean, with just a hint of oak. Really good.
Tasted as part of Whisky, Rum and Gin festival in Bordershoppen back in 2018, where we helped empty the bottle. Very intense in the nose, and with notes of dried fruit, vanilla and the subtle sensation of tobacco, I can see why it would pair well with a cigar
Had a retaste and this time I had the right cigar to go with it and wow what a difference, this is truly a mix well worth a try even though the cigar is slightly expensive and hard to get. Just decided to crack open this wonderful bottle and I regret not having a Cohiba Piramides to go with it. I know it was made to match the Cohiba Siglo VI, but that is too heavy a cigar for me :-) A cooperation between master blender Asbel Morales and cigar sommelier Fernando Fernández and they made something out of this world. A wonderful deep and elegant masterpiece that has a long, warm and elegant balanced finish. A rum worthy of the price tag and then some!
