How does this rum taste?
Fans praise its dry, woody, honeyed agricole profile and great alcohol integration. Critics miss the lush fruit and complexity of earlier Libérations. Overall seen as a very good but not top-of-series release.
If you enjoy Bielle brut de fût or dry, cask‑driven whiskies, this Libération 2020 will likely click; just don’t expect the fruit-heavy richness of earlier vintages.
Beginners, sweetness-seekers, or anyone put off by assertive oak, mineral notes and a relatively dry, tannic finish at almost 60% ABV.

More wood and less almond on the nose than the 45% version. More serious, very dignified, very nice. Mega cool in the mouth. Full, dense, lots of honey. The finish could be a little longer. The closest taste to the Bielle standard (Brut de fut 20XX), without reaching the class of the Liberation series. The 2020 does not disappoint. It's in line with the 2012, but my favorite remains the 2015 with its sunny disposition.
I like the Rhum Rhum Liberation range. But the 2020 is the weakest bottling for me so far. It's really not bad, but unfortunately it doesn't come close to the complexity of its predecessors.
This is not a cheap rum, but quality costs and this is a good rum. I like it better than the "little" brother. Once rested the nose is fresh and woody with dried fruits and sugarcane trailed by vanilla, floral and earthy notes. The palate is lightly dry with smoky wood, fruits and spices trailed by honey and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long and lightly dry with wood, raisin and a hint of tobacco. Price to quality can be argued, but it's a good rum nonetheless.
Ein wirklich toller Rum, hab ihn nach dem Sample auf die Wunschliste gesetzt. Schöner Agricole mit den typischen Noten aber wunderbar rund und sanft. Alkohol wahnsinng gut eingebunden. Hat mit ausgesprochen gut gefallen!
