The Blended Trinidad Rum by Velier boasts a complex flavor profile, crafted at the Caroni distillery in Trinidad. Distilled in 1993 and aged for 17 years, this limited release of 1850 bottles exhibits a remarkable balance of vanilla, tar, oak, and roasted notes. With an ABV of 44.4%, it offers a rich aroma of vanilla and caramelized oak. This rum is praised for its round and sweet nature, though some find it a bit diluted. Notably different from other 1993 Caroni releases, it's an exemplar of Velier Caroni's masterful selection, despite a lighter finish.

After tasting the Old Legend, another strongly diluted Caroni from Velier. Well, another convincing rum with a very round profile. Nose is definitely more complex and has more depth than the 1985 but the palate finish is shorter. Two really good rums however 😊
Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: on the nose and palate hazelnut, very diluted, almost like a Spaniard, but nice and round.
Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Positive surprise - has virtually nothing in common with the other 1993 Caroni releases. Pleasant to drink, nice sweetness, only subtle bitter notes. If one is looking for proof that hardly anything beats the Velier Caroni selection, then for the Vintage 1993 here is a prime specimen.
