How does this rum taste?
The St. Lucia (Bottled for Denmark) Rum, crafted at the Saint Lucia Distillers and curated by Compagnie des Indes, is a rare bottling with only 226 units available. Distilled from molasses in 2002, it matures for 13 years, offering a complex blend of aromas including orange peel, citrus, and herbal notes. Rich flavors of olive, roasted undertones, and licorice are enhanced by a 56.3% ABV. Celebrated for a balanced nose and a woody, spiced palate, it has garnered mixed reviews for its intensity and dryness, with some finding it slightly monotone despite intricate olfactory notes. This limited-release captures the diverse spirit of Caribbean rum, yet its pronounced flavors may not appeal to all palates, making it a notable choice for thoughtful rum enthusiasts and collectors.

Spannende Nase mit viel Röstaromen und Kakao, gepaart mit Kräutern und etwas tropischen Früchten. Am Gaumen dann aber recht trocken und herb. Trotzdem ein sehr guter, röstiger St. Lucia Rum.
Slightly sweeter than other st Lucias but also quite one-dimensional roasty and herbaceous with light notes of nutmeg, ginger and green apple. Overall a bit boring unfortunately...
The nose gives some extra points, unfortunately it then becomes a bit too tart-bitter for me on the palate. The nose is dominated by a great melange of olive, citrus notes and hay. In the mouth, toasty-spicy flavors come in, which are a bit too dominant for me. Too bad - the nose itself is sensational and has briefly made great hope for a St.Lucia at the height of Warren Khong.
St. Lucia World Cup Tasting Holding back but somehow there is papaya???
