How does this rum taste?
The "Fiji (Bottled for Denmark)" was produced in Fiji at the South Pacific distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Compagnie des Indes. It was distilled in 2004 from Molasses and then aged for 11 years. The rum has an ABV of 66,8%. This is a limited release and there are only 234 bottles. Creamy flavor with yogurt, turmeric, cinnamon and molasses.
08.03.2024 Tasting with Romhatten. This is cask 167 Retasting and I stick to my score. ----------------------- Nose Alcoholic, wood, varnish, Agricole, light herbs, clove. Palate Warm, alcoholic, light nutts, fruits, light ginger, clove, toffee. Finish Long, spicy, wood, tannins, fruity. Beautiful large slow moving curtains in the glass.
Grundsätzlich hätte das ein echt guter cask strength 2004 Fiji werden können aber die Alkohol Integration ist leider echt miserabel. Mit einigen Tropfen Wasser kommt dann eine schöne aromatik aus Mokka, Karamell, Kräutern und gegrillten Pfirsichen zum Vorschein. Hier wäre eine bereits verdünnte Variante definitiv besser gewesen.
