How does this rum taste?
- Nicely spiced rum in near perfect balance
- Fresh and fruity nose
- Tolle Melange aus Toffee- und Vanillenoten
Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask VII Dominus delivers the classic Barbados profile that loyal fans expect, with prominent caramel, raisin, and vanilla tones weaving through both aroma and palate. There’s noticeable cognac cask impact—think ‘buttered toast, vanilla sugar, espresso coffee’ as Rare Akuma found, plus a touch of blackberry and dried fruit. Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰 praised its ‘fresh and fruity nose’, and most RumX members noted a satisfying mix of spice, oak, and toasted notes. Some found the cognac influence a bit strong, resulting in a dry, tannic backbone, but others enjoyed the well-rounded, medium-sweet finish.

"One of the proofs that the Exceptional Cask Series offers really impressive quality for the price called. Great melange of toffee and vanilla notes meeting dried fruit and tart wood and spice flavors. Great Release."
"12.10.2024 retasting and I still like it a lot. Love the fresh and fruity nose. ----------------- Nicely spiced rum in near perfect balance. Being finished on cognac casks has done wonders for this one. Very good rum at the price tag."
"Stable dry and spicy heavy foursquare!💯 The cognac barrel is definitely noticeable here with extra wood tones and tannins. Not necessarily my favorite Foursquare, but still delicious."
"Classic Foursquare profile on the nose with coconut, lightly caramelised sugar and wood. “Breakfast on a Sunday” notes: buttered toast, vanilla sugar, espresso coffee. Slight blackberry influence as well as apple orchard. The ex-cognac definitely had some influence. Lovely raisin, mandarin and dried apricot synergy with oily peels and a splash of short-steeped cinnamon tea. Heavy and dry experience on the palate, where the cognac influence is (a little too) in charge. Raisins overpower most of the other flavours with tannins, fructose and a hint of licorice. Finish is medium in length, sweet and parching. The cognac is again quite present with raisins, licorice and tannins."
