“Classic Foursquare profile on the nose with coconut, lightly caramelised sugar and wood. “Breakfast on a Sunday” notes: buttered toast, vanilla sugar, espresso coffee. Slight blackberry influence as well as apple orchard. The ex-cognac definitely had some influence. Lovely raisin, mandarin and dried apricot synergy with oily peels and a splash of short-steeped cinnamon tea. Heavy and dry experience on the palate, where the cognac influence is (a little too) in charge. Raisins overpower most of the other flavours with tannins, fructose and a hint of licorice. Finish is medium in length, sweet and parching. The cognac is again quite present with raisins, licorice and tannins.”
