“Un profil relativement élaboré pour un rhum de style hispanique, avec pas mal de cordes à son arc. Le nez évoque quelque chose d’assez doux mais avec un minimum de caractère, on y trouve notamment le toffee, le caramel, les épices, un peu de boisé, de fruits secs et de chocolat sur une influence de bourbon. Un nez plutôt engageant au premier abord. L’attaque en bouche démontre toujours une forme de rondeur sucrée avec le caramel et le chocolat, mais les épices, le chêne, le café, les noix, le piment et la cannelle donnent ce côté pêchu qui sied à merveille sur ce type de profil. On a un degré d’alcool supérieur à la moyenne qui n’est pas dérangeant du tout, bien au contraire. Toutefois, la finale présente les limites de ce type de profil avec une longueur bien trop courte au palais. On retrouve globalement le même archétype mais avec un peu plus de notes toastées et de fruits secs. Un rhum sympathique qui permet aux amateurs de sucre de faire une transition en douceur vers des profils plus riches.”
