"Tastes a lot like the 1996 version, but less powerful flavors and a little sweeter. I prefer the 1996 version. The nose is fruity and woody with aromas of vanilla and oak. At the palate and during the rather long finish it’s complex, sweet, fruity and spicy with flavors of vanilla and oak."
"Not uninteresting. Pleasantly woody, but also perfumed. I could imagine it perfectly with a cigar."
"A relatively elaborate profile for a Hispanic-style rum, with quite a few strings to its bow. The nose evokes something fairly sweet but with a modicum of character, including toffee, caramel, spices, a little wood, dried fruit and chocolate on a bourbon influence. A rather engaging nose at first glance. The attack on the palate still shows a kind of sweet roundness with caramel and chocolate, but the spices, oak, coffee, walnuts, chilli and cinnamon give it that peachy edge that suits this type of profile so well. The above-average alcohol level is not at all disturbing, on the contrary. However, the finish shows the limits of this type of profile, with a length that is far too short on the palate. Overall, we find the same archetype, but with slightly more toasted and dried fruit notes. A pleasant rum that allows sugar lovers to make a smooth transition to richer profiles."
"Another big surprise. Unfortunately the finish is too short and maybe a tad too sweet for me. A great rum overall. "
