How does this rum taste?
The Karukera Velier Single Cask 2008 from Guadeloupe is a limited-release rum, expertly distilled using sugarcane juice with a column still and aged for 9 years. With only 299 bottles produced, it features a robust ABV of 58.4%. Tasting notes reveal a sweet, fresh aroma complemented by hints of pear and vanilla, transitioning into roasted, spicy, honey, and caramel flavors. Diverse user feedback indicates a well-integrated alcoholic warmth and complex profile with roasted notes and spice predominating on the palate. While praised for its unique blend of honey and spice, some find it slightly one-sided with a bitter aftertaste.

A very nice single barrel with a warm and fruity profile. Lightly spicy and a very long finish.
Etwas bitter und ordentlich würzig. Kein Rum für den nüchternen Gaumen. Holz, getrocknete Früchte, dezente Süsse. Mit Wasser wird er wesentlich gefälliger.
