A rum from Thailand that delivers on its exotic promise. The nose is very floral and vegetal, with notes of sugarcane, grass and earth combined with the sweetness of lychee, citrus and peppery notes. Very sweet and fresh. On the palate, sweetness clearly predominates. It's very vegetal, very fresh, with sugarcane and lychee expressing themselves without too much trouble on this fairly clean profile. A few spices (pepper in particular) tickle the taste buds. The finish is very short, carried by sugarcane, pepper and greenery. An exotic, fresh and pleasant profile that would have potential if Thai legislation didn't prohibit bottling alcohol above 40%. It goes down relatively well in cocktails.
Ripe/fermented nose of tropical fruit(especially papaya), squash, melon, lychee and a mix of evo oil and balsamic vinegar, like a red wine opened a few days ago or a sherry/passito. Very distinctive. The palate adds a bit of toastiness and some salty notes then in the finish citrus and lively pepper. In the empty glass melon, pumpkin, rosemary and roasted/brothy meat(umami). Too bad for the lack of depth, but it remains distinctive and unique.
🎃 Pumpkin?!🤣 both nose and taste: simultaneously Hokkaido pumpkin, honeydew melon and butternut squash and in the finish some cucumber and pumpkin seeds. totally crazy and easy to drink but unfortunately also a bit watered down and volatile and thin. a cask strength would be a mega number here!
