How does this rum taste?
This 2000 Hampden LROK is typical of the distillery’s wild ester style, with pineapple, banana, and tropical fruit coming through strongly, balanced by floral and cinnamon notes. The nose is especially fresh and floral—"a very nice and floral nose" says @Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰—while others mention a surprising lack of wood on the nose for its age. "Sehr hohes Niveau" notes @Johannes, though a few find the complexity a touch limited compared to Hampden’s best. The sip brings more of that fruitiness, with roasted and woody undertones that add warmth. Texture leans smooth and slightly smoky in the empty glass, rounding out a balanced, distinct Hampden profile.

Un nez assez floral et fruité. Pas une trace de bois, c'est étonnant pour un rhum de cet âge. Par contre la bouche est beaucoup plus sombre, ça n'est pas désagréable mais ça manque un peu d'équilibre. Un profil étonnant pour Hampden.
Sehr hohes Niveau, auch wenn es mir etwas an Komplexität fehlt.
