How does this rum taste?
Most love its “old” woody depth, fresh cane and citrus complexity. Critics mention a sharp attack, earthy bitterness and a profile that can feel too agricole or boisé. Consensus: intense, impressive young agricole.
If you already enjoy Martinique agricoles or lightly aged, punchy cane-juice rums, this is a smart step up in strength and complexity without going into extreme or funky territory.
Beginners, those sensitive to higher ABV or bitterness, and drinkers who dislike grassy/agricole notes and prominent oak and pepper in their glass.

Very fresh, lime, dried fruit. Crisp. The alcohol could be a little better integrated. Great Agricole! The right book to go with it: Fermor's "The Traveler's Tree", of course the chapter on Martinique.
