By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
The palate has lots of big, heavy notes of dried fruits, tobacco and molasses. Slightly leathery. The palate follows from the nose with the addition of some roasted nuts. Quite dry, It feels very light. I suspect that this rum could have done with being a higher ABV. The finish is of a medium length. I found it to be a little sharp and peppery. A bit too bland for me. Overall, this rum would have been so much better. The dark notes on the nose are very nice but it fades before the palate, I think it has been overly cut down. Bottled up to 45-50% could have been amazing.
Tastes a bit narrow and the flavor in the finish wears off relatively quickly. Tastes one-dimensional and little variety.
