Small tasting at our friend Émile's beautiful store in the center of Lille. I was able to taste this juice. Quick feedback: one to clearly woody and fruity, dry I think. Maybe a little orange and a (too) short but slightly spicy finish like a little ginger. Nice.
This Rum from Polynesia is all about citrus fruits. The nose starts with a strong alcoholic mark like mescal accompanied by the smell of lime and some slight notes of bergamot. The taste stays citric and alcoholic with the bergamot now more in the foreground and the lime more in the back. The finish comes with some surprising notes of pear and is still citric, but now a little bit more like grapefruit and still the lime. It stays a little bit longer in the upper part of the mouth, but not too long. Nice rum, especially because it is very different from the Caribbean ones.
