How does this rum taste?
- Good for cocktails
- Neutral flavor
- Affordable
Captain Morgan White Rum, with an ABV of 37.5%, is crafted in various countries and is characterized by its distinctive aroma and taste. The rum's scent is primarily alcoholic with hints of synthetic and medicinal notes, while its flavor profile leans towards medicinal with touches of orange peel and a diluted, funky quality. Most users suggest it as a cocktail mixer rather than a standalone drink due to its sharp alcoholic undertones. Reviewers often find it comparable yet slightly preferable to other inexpensive white rums, notably for fruity cocktails or beginner-friendly Daiquiris. It is widely acknowledged for its neutrality and mild funkiness that can complement certain mixed drinks.

"Quite okay for cocktails"
"acceptable for fruit cocktails, pure it is undrinkable."
"Quite weak on the nose, but not a total failure. Esters a little, glue, something green, relatively fresh - but also bluntly alcoholic. The first half of the palate is really meaningless. Towards the end it gets a bit funky, boozy, but also fruity. Unfortunately, however, totally watered down. Here too: quite meaningless, but not a total failure. All in all, surprisingly poor for my expectations. For a tenner, this thing is absolutely fine. In this segment (cheap, white, party material, daiquiris for beginners) I would actually prefer it to all others."
"gerade noch ok würde ich sagen. Hätte schlimmeres erwartet wenn man an einen Captain Morgan denkt, der nicht voller Zucker und Geschmacksstoffen ist. Sehr neutral gefiltert, praktisch nur alkoholische Schärfe."
